Kidney Cleansing
Healthy Kidneys for Healthy People
Did you ever wonder where urine comes from? Did you ever ask yourself
what it iscomposed of, and what it does to our body? Urine is a
product of the kidneys. The kidneys are bean-shaped organs in our
body that help in eliminating waste products from metabolism through
urine formation. As we all know, our blood carries oxygen to our
cells, and carries their waste products away from them for elimination.
Our blood is being filtered by our kidneys to purge it of waste
materials. This waste material is in the form of a liquid, hence
the urine.
The kidneys are especially important in our bodies. Aside from
the elimination processes it does to purge us of waste products,
it also help in regulating our blood pressure. When our blood pressure
goes up, kidneys stimulate urine excretion to lower it down. When
blood pressure goes down, the kidneys are activated to help increase
it to an optimum level. Our kidneys also help us regulate our acid
base balance, also called the electrolyte balance. This is extremely
important in our normal functioning, especially during muscle activity,
heart contractions, and metabolism.
Since our kidneys are an integral part of our body, we need to
take extra care of them. Common ailments can affect the kidneys,
like kidney stones and kidney infections. Symptoms of kidney ailments
are edema, pain in the lower back and abdomen, and inability to
produce urine to eliminate the waste products of our body. We have
to protect ourselves from these kidney ailments since our kidneys
perform a variety of activities to optimize our health. So if our
kidneys are unhealthy, it follows that we become sick and ailing
also. We need to protect our kidneys from harm.
We have to remember to do routine kidney cleanses to optimize our
health. Kidney cleanse is not that difficult, all we need to do
is take in foods that are rich in fluid, like watermelons and berries.
If infections occur, we have to drink lots of fluid, especially
prune juice to eliminate them. We have to make sure that we do not
hold in urine, for this increase the risk of kidney stone formation.
We also have to remember not to take in too much coffee, tea, carbonated
drinks and alcohol to keep our kidneys healthy. Remember, healthy
kidneys mean a healthier body!
